At CEAL, we would love to explore the Ainu language and culture together in a relaxed, casual study-group setting. Building on the materials developed by the Ainu Centre in Biratori (Hokkaido, Japan), we can dive into this fascinating language while learning about the rich cultural traditions of the Ainu people.
Our group will be hands-on and creative — we are currently developing our own lesson materials, and we also make use of videos and resources from native speakers. This way, learning becomes a collaborative and interactive experience: we learn together, create together, and make every session interesting and engaging.
While in-person meetings will officially start in 2026, we invite everyone interested to stay tuned for more information and get involved in the planning. Whether you are curious about the language, fascinated by Ainu culture, or simply enjoy discovering something new with others, this informal workshop promises to be a fun, lively, and inspiring experience!
