Japanese Language Classes & Cultural Activities

Dive into the fascinating world of Japanese every week at the libraries in Leidsche Rijn and Vleuterweide! Whether you’re just starting out or looking to improve your skills, we have classes by certified teachers who are also native speakers – designed to make learning Japanese both effective and enjoyable.

Every Thursday from 4 to 5 PM, in Vleuterweide, we focus on A1 grammar, perfect for beginners who want to build a solid foundation.

On Fridays, in Leidsche Rijn, we offer parallel classes: from 1:30 to 2:30 PM, A1 speaking and A2 grammar sessions run simultaneously, and from 2:30 PM onwards, learners can continue with A2 speaking practice. This structure ensures that everyone, from absolute beginners to those at an intermediate level, finds the right challenge and support.

But our Japanese journey doesn’t stop at the classroom! We regularly organise events celebrating Japanese language and culture, from music and film evenings to cooking workshops and more. We are also proud to participate in Nihongo Matsuri, organised by ONK (Oranda Nihongo Kyoshikai – the Dutch Association of Japanese Language Teachers), giving our students unique opportunities to connect with the wider Japanese-learning community.
